Don't overlook the AAW Pro Wrestling: Destination Chicago show
It’s a big week in the world of pro wrestling, headlined by AEW’s All Out pay-per-view on September 5. GCW is also running several events this weekend.
However, one show that people are sleeping on is AAW Pro Wrestling: Destination Chicago.
Don’t believe me? Take a look at the card:
1. Fred Yehi (c) vs. Josh Alexander for the AAW Heavyweight Championship
Josh Alexander is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world right now. Bar none. If you watched the match he had with Jake Something at Emergence, you know I’m speaking the truth. I suspect Fred Yehi will rise to the occasion, as he usually does, and this will be an excellent match.
2. Daniel Garcia vs. Davey Richards
Daniel Garcia is taking on Davey Richards in what could easily be the match of the week. Richards made his return to pro wrestling in June after a four-year hiatus, but he hasn’t missed a step. And what is there to say about Garcia that hasn’t already been said? He’s a prodigy.
3. Arez vs. Laredo Kid
Another match that is sure to make some noise is Arez vs. Laredo Kid. These two have wrestled each other a couple of times, most notably earlier this year at AAA Auto Luchas.
Check it out below:
4. Myron Reed (c) vs. Ace Austin for the AAW Heritage Championship
If you’ve never seen Myron Reed or Ace Austin before, what the hell are you doing with your time? All jokes aside, both guys are supremely talented and there should be some insane spots here. The fact that we’re getting this and Arez vs. Laredo Kid on the same card is unbelievable.
5. Allysin Kay (c) vs. Jody Threat for the AAW Women’s Championship
Allysin Kay doesn’t get enough credit for how great of a worker she is. And while Jody Threat is a lesser-known name (and still relatively new to the business), she’s someone to keep an eye on in the coming years.
6. Juice Robinson vs. Manders
I’ll be honest; I’m not familiar with Manders. Juice Robinson rarely disappoints, though.
The following are also scheduled to appear:
Jake Something
Hakim Zane (aka Rohit Raju)
Stallion Rogers (the former Curt Stallion)
inFamy - AAW Tag Team Champions
Frontman Jah-C
SCHAFF
Russ Jones
AAW Pro Wrestling: Destination Chicago airs live on FITE TV on Thursday, September 2, at 8:30 PM EDT.
